OSTRIA Hotel & Apartments are located on the main road leading from Skiathos Town to Koukounaries, in the Agia Paraskevi or Platanias area, half way between Skiathos Town and Koukounaries.
Agia Paraskevi is a small, charming resort set between the beautiful sandy beach and the pretty valley leading to the north of Skiathos island. There are several tavernas, some small supermarkets and an ATM. The local bus stops regularly in the resort and it is possible to call a taxi. Set back from the road and away from traffic, the apartments are set amongst beautiful natural gardens with vines and an orchard. From Hotel Ostria's gardens and pool. there are views of the hills to the north of Skiathos island.
Agia Paraskevi beach is one of the prettiest on the island and is only minutes' walk from the hotel. The sand is soft and golden and the beach shelves gently, making it ideal for family days out. In summer there are organised water sports, a beach bar and many sunbeds with parasols.
It is also possible to walk to two other beaches – Kolios and Troulos. Both have fine sand, beach bars and watersports. There are many Blue Flag beaches on Skiathos. All the beaches on the south of the island can be reached from the local bus route. The north coast of Skiathos also has beautiful beaches and they can be reached by car or from one the many scenic walks from south to north.
Ostria Hotel is only 6 km away from the port and ancient town of Skiathos with many bars, restaurants and shops. The island airport is 8km from Hotel Ostria.
Skiathos airport has been recently extended and now welcomes direct flights from Athens and many overseas destinations throughout the summer season from early May to October. The island can also be reached by ferry from the Greek mainland ports of Volos and Agios Konstantinos.
